Who We Are
The Atterdag Village Auxiliary is a warm and welcoming community of individuals united by a common goal to make a difference in the lives of others. Our members include Atterdag Village residents, family members, and local community members who support Atterdag Village residents through various activities, programs, village projects, and fundraising. Everyone has something unique to contribute, and we welcome you to join us in bringing joy and support to the seniors in our community.
What We Do
Being a part of the auxiliary is not just about giving back, it’s about experiencing the fulfillment that comes from making a difference in someone’s life. Our activities include community fundraising events, sponsored holiday parties, and special events for residents at all levels of care.
As an auxiliary member, you can volunteer on the Atterdag Village campus, visit with residents, help with art projects, bingo, bocce ball, happy hour, or just spend time together. You can also share your unique talents, such as singing, playing an instrument, or hosting a lecture. By volunteering, you can bring smiles to the faces of our seniors.
If you are interested in joining and have questions or would like to drop in and visit an Auxiliary Meeting, please contact us.

About Us
The Atterdag Village of Solvang Auxiliary began in 2010 with the mission to honor, protect, and support Atterdag Village of Solvang and its residents with love, compassion, dignity, and resources available through our efforts. This organization is an extension of and operates under the auspices and direction of the Atterdag Village of Solvang and functions under the same non-profit status.

Bio
Gaylen Carroll, I grew up in the San Fernando Valley and have been a resident of Solvang for 14 years. My Mother was a resident of Atterdag Village. While she was there, I saw firsthand the incredible impact the staff and volunteers made in her life. Their dedication and care were truly invaluable. Having no background in volunteerism, I knew I wanted to do something to give back. I started with Atterdag at Home and Meals on Wheels, but I still wanted to do more. Becoming the Auxiliary President has been a life-changing opportunity. Being more involved and getting to know the residents personally has been a gift.
