Santa Ynez Rancho Estates Mutual Water Co. was an interesting adventure. The prupose of building.a website for the organization was to increase communication and information.
A Little History: The water company was founded in 1979. Prior to that from 1960-1979 it was run by Mission Hills Water Company in Lompoc as a for profit water company. In 1979 Mission Hills was in bankruptcy and the acre our tank sat on was in a rears on tax payments.
One of the homeowners saw the legal notice in the newspaper and the homeowners got together and formed the non-profit company we have today. To start the company they had an assessment of $300 per lot.
